**Scope boundary (per #127):**

- **In F3:** the `wgl-tech-design` skill; make the type claimable + posture-stamped (`claim-session-id.sh` type→posture single-home → `tech-design` = careful) + its test; thin-SPEC path for leaf issues; cites reconciled handbook (F1), reuses existing deterministic tools.
|
||
- **Deferred to F5 (#129):** registering `tech-design` in the session-gate hook type table + the wgl-session-finalize dispatch table + stale-ref sweep. (Finalize Step-0 fallback covers the transitional gap.)

||

## Pre-state

- Branch `claude/pedantic-carson-35d379` (harness-provided worktree) tracking a clean, pushed `origin/main` at `bfa8efe` (F2 / v0.57.0 merge).

## Arc

|
||
1. **Classified + opened the session.** Session gate → planning-and-executing (build a skill, plan→code). Invoked `wgl-planning-and-executing`.

2. **Claimed session 0078** (peek → no live concurrency → atomic claim). Stamped `Type: planning-and-executing`, `Posture: yolo`. Local placeholder in `~/.wgl`.

3. **Verified baseline** clean/pushed; CLAUDE.md already imports `@~/.claude/wiggleverse.md`.

4. **Studied the F2 pattern + the locked brief.** Read `engineering/docs/sdl-pipeline-refactor-brief.md` (design-track step 4 — wgl-tech-design authors the engineering lens, no task breakdown; two altitudes stay distinct), the shipped `wgl-brainstorming/SKILL.md` (`--lenses brd|prd` accretion model), `lenses-for-type.sh`, and issue **#127** (in-scope vs F5 non-goals). Confirmed via `solution-design/GUIDE.md` that the **engineering lens = Technical Design §6**, and completes the SPEC.

5. **Eligibility (Step 8.5):** `check-issue-eligibility.sh --design <brief> --for implementation-plan` → ELIGIBLE (R2a, locked Solution Design). #127 itself is a bare `type/feature` (R3-ineligible) — anchored on the brief instead.

6. **Built F3** (4 tasks):
|
||
- `claim-session-id.sh`: added `tech-design` to `--type` validation + error msg + the type→posture single-home (→ **careful**, design INV-1). Header doc updated.
|
||
- `test-posture-stamp.sh`: added `tech-design → careful` assertion. → **11/11 pass**.
|
||
- `skills/wgl-tech-design/SKILL.md`: the new gate-lifter — front-half reuse (claim/baseline/memory Steps 1–7), engineering-lens accretion into the existing SPEC, **thin-SPEC path** for a leaf that skipped brd/prd, careful-by-construction + terminal gate, the load-bearing **architecture/contract-only (no task breakdown)** boundary, eligibility reuse (`--for solution-design` R1; `lenses-for-type.sh` R1–R3), finalize participation (spec addendum) + a bootstrap note on F5 wiring. Cites handbook §3.3/§4.3 + GUIDE rather than restating (§4.1).

7. **Verified:** `test-posture-stamp.sh` 11/11 · `test-session-id-ownership.sh` 20/20 · `test-lenses-for-type.sh` 14/14 · `test-issue-eligibility.sh` 14/14 · `lint.sh --check-bump` clean (shellcheck skipped — not installed; later confirmed `0.57.0 → 0.58.0 with skills changes`).

8. **Shipped:** committed `869ce50`, pushed, opened **PR #131** (Gitea API; the issues token 403'd on PR scope → used the default per-host `wgl-gitea-token-git.wiggleverse.org`), merged to `main` (`72a2576`). **#127 closed** (PR body `Closes #127`).

9. **Finalize:** clean tree, no open PRs. No separate writing-plans artifact (plan was inline) → nothing to `submit-plan.sh`. Meta/plugin change → no PPE pipeline stage. **Cache-lag:** loaded 0.57.0 < shipped 0.58.0 → ran `update-plugin.sh` → **0.57.0 → 0.58.0 made live** (applies to new sessions; restart/`/clear` to load). Memory updated; transcript published.

## Cut state

## Deferred decisions
|
||
|
||
- **F3/F5 boundary on finalize dispatch.** #127's scope lists "finalize participation" as in-scope but "finalize dispatch table" as an F5 non-goal — a genuine tension. **Resolved:** F3 makes the type claimable + posture-stamped and the skill *describes* its finalize participation; the actual `case` registration in `wgl-session-finalize` (and the session-gate classifier table) is left to F5. Until then, finalize's Step-0 fallback routes a `tech-design` SPEC to the spec addendum. Low-confidence call logged here for review; the gap is benign during the bootstrap (the new types aren't yet driven by the pipeline gate).

- **Engineering lens NOT added to `lenses-for-type.sh`.** That script is deliberately the brainstorming `{brd, prd}` pair; the engineering lens applicability is handled by reusing `check-issue-eligibility.sh --for solution-design` (R1) + reading the brd/prd verdict for the feature-vs-leaf path. No new deterministic tool invented (§4.2).
