Session 0047.0 — Transcript

App: dev-claude-plugin Start: 2026-06-10T00-52 (PST) End: 2026-06-10T01-02 (PST) Type: planning-and-executing Status: FINALIZED

Launch prompt

Implement the Solution Design specs/2026-06-10-issue-type-design-gates-design.md
(feature #64) — start SLICE-2: write the up-front-thinking gate (R1/R2/R3 +
pipeline diagram) into the engineering handbook as the canonical rule.

Plan

Feature #64 — issue-type → design gates. SLICE-2: canonical handbook rule. Design: dev-claude-plugin/specs/2026-06-10-issue-type-design-gates-design.md (§4.4 "The canonical rule (handbook)", §6 SLICE-2).

SLICE-2 lands in the engineering repo (the canonical handbook), not the plugin:

  1. Add §3.4 — "The up-front-thinking gate: issue type decides the artifact" to engineering/README.md, right after §3.3 (Solution Design). Carries R1/R2/R3, the TAX type/bug leaf note, D3 (refuse + guide + explicit override), and the capture → issue → (design) → plan → code pipeline diagram. Source of truth the init skills will cite (INV-6).
  2. One-line pointer in the tier-1 digest (engineering/agent-context.md, exposed as ~/.claude/wiggleverse.md).
  3. Work in an isolated worktree off origin/main (engineering repo on a dirty concurrent-session branch — §5.4). Branch → PR → merge.
  4. Tick #64's checklist item 2.

Note: SLICE-2 is engineering-repo-only — no plugin version bump. Skill-wiring + check-issue-eligibility.sh are SLICE-3/4.

Pre-state

  • On the plugin repo, branch fix/capture-finalize-skip-memory (05a9e82), several pre-existing untracked drafts from other sessions (not mine).
  • The graduated design was on engineering's origin/main… no — on the plugin's origin/main at 795ebe1 (specs/2026-06-10-issue-type-design-gates-design.md); my checkout branch lacked it, so I read it from origin/main.
  • Extreme concurrency: 6 dev-claude-plugin sessions in flight at claim time (0035, 0042, 0043, 0044, 0045, 0046) plus a live engineering session on branch docs/solution-design-pain-points-business-framing (dirty app.json). Claimed 0047 (next-free), warned-and-proceeded per the autonomous default.

Turn-by-turn arc

  1. Classify + claim. /wgl-planning-and-executing lifted the session gate (planning-and-executing). Computed start 2026-06-10T00-52; dry-run peek listed the 6 in-flight sessions; claimed 0047 (atomic push 23fd390).
  2. Read the design. The target spec wasn't on my branch; read it from origin/main. Confirmed SLICE-2 = the canonical handbook rule (§4.4), and that it lands in the engineering repo, not the plugin.
  3. Locate placement. Grepped the handbook: it had no prior mention of the issue taxonomy, capture, or the two session types — SLICE-2 introduces the rule canonically for the first time. Chose a new §3.4 right after §3.3 (Solution Design), where "which work earns a design vs goes straight to a plan" fits.
  4. Isolate (§5.4). Engineering checkout was on a concurrent session's dirty branch → created worktree .claude/worktrees/session-0047-slice2 off origin/main.
  5. Author §3.4. R1/R2/R3 + the type/bug leaf note + D3 (halts even in yolo, explicit override) + the brainstorming-vetted pipeline diagram (adapted from the design's own §2.1 diagram). Added the TOC entry and a tier-1 digest pointer in agent-context.md.
  6. Ship. Committed, pushed, opened engineering PR #27 via the Gitea API (default per-host token — issue-scoped 403s on /pulls), merged it (f49b785), verified §3.4 + the digest pointer on origin/main, removed the worktree + local branch.
  7. Track. Ticked #64 checklist item 2 (precise single-line replace, asserted exactly one match) + added a progress comment (id 903) via the issue-scoped token.
  8. Finalize. Surveyed both repos (nothing of mine left dangling), updated memory, drafted the next-session prompt, published this transcript.

Cut state (final)

  • Engineering origin/main carries handbook §3.4 + the digest pointer (merge f49b785, PR #27). TOC updated.
  • Plugin repo: untouched this session (its untracked drafts pre-date the session — other sessions' work, left as-is). No plugin version bump (SLICE-2 is engineering-only).
  • #64: checklist item 2 ticked; progress comment posted. Remaining checklist items (SLICE-1 type/bug, SLICE-3 brainstorm gate, SLICE-4 plan gate) untouched.
  • Worktree + local branch cleaned up; the merged remote branch docs/issue-type-upfront-thinking-gate left in place (harmless).
  • A concurrent SessionEnd guard spuriously stamped this placeholder ENDED-UNFINALIZED mid-session (0.29.0 stampless-transition false positive); this finalized publish overwrites it.

Deferred decisions

No low-confidence calls this session. Placement (§3.4 vs §1) and the no-version-bump call both followed the design + the version-bump rule directly.

Next session

The natural continuation of #64 is SLICE-1 (type/bug taxonomy), per the design's doc-first order (SLICE-2 → SLICE-1 → SLICE-3 → SLICE-4):

/wgl-planning-and-executing Continue feature #64 (issue-type → design gates): SLICE-1 — add type/bug to the taxonomy. Extend skills/wgl-capture/scripts/ensure-capture-labels.sh, the wgl-capture sizing step, and the Capture RFC §4; provision the label on the plugin tracker. Per dev-claude-plugin/specs/2026-06-10-issue-type-design-gates-design.md §4.3 / §6 SLICE-1. CHECK FIRST: session 0044's unmerged branch fix/capture-lifecycle-and-design-gates (7296b85) mentions "type/bug" — reconcile before duplicating.

This was an explicit-goal interrupt, so the parked Next /goal: feedback (set deliberately by sessions 0046/0095) is left intact and is NOT overwritten in memory. The remaining #64 slices are durably tracked on #64's own checklist.
