Followed mid-session by the operator's refined filing directive: file the Epic
"Restructure the SDLC into a staged, gated pipeline" on the dev-claude-plugin
tracker decomposing into 5 named Features; save the brief to
`engineering/docs/sdl-pipeline-refactor-brief.md` and link it as the source on
each; note that F1 is engineering-repo work and the rest dev-plugin work.

repo's `issues/` (a prior session's leftovers).
## Turn-by-turn arc
1. **Session gate.** Classified the opening brief; two types plausible
(brainstorming vs planning-and-executing). Asked the operator → **Capture**.
Invoked `wgl-capture`; claimed **ecomm-0041** (capture, careful).
2. **Target resolution.** `ecomm`'s `app.json` declares no tracker, and the work
is plugin + handbook tooling, not ecomm product — a target override (PUC-2).
First operator answer chose "split: plugin + engineering" trackers.
3. **Decomposition.** Sized the brief against §4.3 → an Epic + candidate Features.
Flagged the rolling-wave tension (carve one Feature vs file all). Operator chose
**Epic + all Features** (eyes-open, brief is locked).
4. **First draft set (4 Features) written**, presented for VS Code review.
5. **Refined directive.** Operator restated: Epic on dev-plugin, **5** Features
(added F5 "wiring"; F3 reframed as a new gate-lifter *session*), save+link the
brief, annotate work-repo. Re-asked two forks → **publish brief via branch/PR/I
merge**, and tracker = **split** (F1 → engineering tracker; Epic + F2F5 →
dev-plugin), work-repo noted on each.
6. **Brief published.** Branch `docs/sdl-pipeline-refactor-brief` on engineering →
PR #62 → merged (used the repo-scoped Keychain token via `gitea-api.sh`; the
issue-scoped token 403s on `/pulls`). Brief live on engineering `main`.
7. **Issues filed.** Epic #125 (dev-plugin) first; then F1 engineering#63
(cross-tracker parent ref), F2 #126, F3 #127, F4 #128, F5 #129. All
`typecheck:ok` (judged 6, mismatch 0). Epic decomposition backfilled with child
numbers.
8. **One self-inflicted scare, fixed.** The first Epic-body backfill PATCH hit a
heredoc/stdin clash and wiped Epic #125's body (len 1). Caught it on the
verify, restored the full body (8272 chars) from the draft via a file-based
PATCH, verified.
9. **Cleanup.** Deleted the 6 filed drafts (INV-8). Finalized (this transcript).
## Cut state (end of session)
- **Filed:** Epic dev-plugin#125; F1 engineering#63; F2 #126; F3 #127; F4 #128;
F5 #129. All carry type + priority + Parent #125 + Work-repo + Source link.
- **Brief:** `docs/sdl-pipeline-refactor-brief.md` on engineering `main` (PR #62

No per-slice loop. The plan's native Task→Step structure IS the decomposition.
## Decisions (locked — do not re-litigate)
- Every seam is a gate for now; wrapping multiple gates into one session is a
later optimization.
- One SPEC = one plan = one execution. "Slice" is NOT used — superpowers has no
such concept (its grain is sub-project / spec / plan / Task / Step). The SPEC
Delivery Plan carries rollout/launch strategy only, NOT a task list.
- Two altitudes stay distinct: wgl-tech-design = architecture/contract (no
tasks); wgl-writing-plans = the full task breakdown.
- Terminology: "Solution Design" = the WHOLE SPEC. The new step is
wgl-tech-design (authors one lens), NOT wgl-solution-design.
- §4.3 reconciliation: a Feature = one SPEC = one plan = one execution; its
internal units are the plan's Tasks. The Feature→Story(slice) sub-layer
collapses — Stories become STANDALONE leaf issues only (R2(b)), not a Feature
sub-layer. R1R4 otherwise intact.
- "Which lenses exist" is governed by issue type (§4.3): Feature → brd+prd
required (R3); leaf story/task/bug → lenses skippable, tech-design authors a
thin SPEC; nothing warranted → skip design track, build straight from the
issue (R2(b)).
## Superpowers mapping (native grain, no overlay)
- superpowers:brainstorming is a borrowed DIALOGUE technique only; wgl owns the
terminal state (a lens run never hands off to writing-plans).
- superpowers:writing-plans wants ONE spec doc and assumes scope decomposition
happened upstream; wgl-tech-design completing one SPEC satisfies that.
- superpowers:writing-plans and :executing-plans are already SEPARATE skills; the
plan doc is their handoff. wgl-writing-plans / wgl-executing-plans are thin
