## Plan

The work was emergent, not pre-planned (it began as a naming question). The shape it took:

1. Name the product ("Maker Collective") and finish the rename across the PR-FAQ.
|
||||
2. Review the PR-FAQ as a hard-nosed Amazon PR-FAQ reviewer; tier the findings (1–5).
|
||||
3. Work the tiers one at a time, sourcing each fix from the strategy memo (the memo is the source of truth / superset).
|
||||
4. Absorb operator strategy input mid-stream (referral economics became negotiable; ranking-neutrality guarantee; cuttle.xyz/first-class reframe) and reconcile it into **both** docs.
|
||||
5. Final reconciliation pass: PR-FAQ⇄memo superset check + gap analysis; flag unaddressed gaps honestly in the memo §14 backlog.

6. Merge to `main`, push, finalize with a transcript.

||||
## Pre-session state
|
||||
|
||||
- `docs/maker-platform-pr-faq.md` existed (an Amazon working-backwards PR-FAQ derived from `docs/maker-platform-strategy.md`), product provisionally named "Wiggleverse Makers".
|
||||
- The canonical `main` checkout had an **uncommitted partial rename** ("Wiggleverse Makers" → "Wiggleverse Maker Collective", 6 spots) that the operator had started by hand.

## Turn-by-turn arc (uncurated — wrong turns included)
|
||||
|
||||
1. **Naming consult.** Operator asked whether "Maker Market" / "Maker Network" was the right name (resisting "marketplace" because it isn't one). Routed via the session gate to an untracked consult (`wgl-session-none`). Recommended **"Collective"** over both "Makers" and "Market" — *collective* carries demand-aggregation / commit-then-make and is deliberately not a marketplace word. Operator agreed; settled on full name **"Wiggleverse Maker Collective"**, short form **"Maker Collective"** after first use.

2. **Finish the rename.** Reviewed the operator's partial uncommitted edit; it was incomplete (missed the headline, lede, naming note) and over-qualified (repeated the full name everywhere). **Wrong turn:** first Edit hit the `worktree-edit-guard` because the partial change lived in the *canonical* checkout, not the worktree. Operator directed pulling all main changes into the worktree; found there were *no* changes other than the rename. Completed the rename in the worktree (full-name-once convention; rewrote the stale "chosen over Market" rationale). Committed (`a5c0dd4`).

3. **Amazon PR-FAQ review.** On request, reviewed the whole doc as a senior Amazon bar-raiser. Produced a tiered findings list (Tier 1 = blocking; Tier 5 = quick fixes), excluding "is it big enough for Amazon" per operator constraint.

||||
4. **Tier 1** (provenance mechanism, trust & safety/anti-collusion + ghosting recourse, Kickstarter/Gamefound/BackerKit, the computed pricing numbers). Recurring finding: each was a **surfacing gap** — the memo already had the answer; the PR-FAQ was under-selling it. Only the pricing worked-examples needed an operator decision (chose to state illustrative numbers). Committed (`4d8daad`).

5. **Tier 2** (Shopify-copies-the-tool, referral incentive consent, run-cost `F`, drop reliability). Mid-tier, the operator injected **new strategy**: (a) commit-then-make isn't *hard*, it's *not first-class anywhere* + cuttle.xyz/LLM-tool integration headroom; (b) per-relationship curation approval; (c) **negotiable** referral terms with a platform-fee floor. This collided with the memo's "uniform, non-biddable" guardrail → surfaced the tension; operator chose **placement non-biddable + economics negotiable**. Operator then clarified the **spread stays fixed (3–5%), only A's reward above it is negotiable**, and added the **ranking-neutrality** guarantee (platform ranks for conversion, never by referral economics — structural because the spread is constant). 8. **Tier 4** press-release craft (de-jargoned headline → "Ownership + price" direction per operator; subhead de-jargon; replaced a happy-maker quote with a skeptic-turned-believer). Deliberately *left* the spokesperson quote and the length. Committed (`4ab2121`).

9. **Reconciliation pass** (operator-requested). Ran two parallel reader subagents (superset check + gap analysis). Superset check was clean — only 2 real divergences (the illustrative pricing was PR-FAQ-only → ported to memo; "enforces" overstated the FTC-30-Day platform role → "eases", per memo §11). Committed (`317a6b7`). **Wrong turn:** a verification grep showed stale line-numbers and I briefly thought 8 memo edits hadn't landed — `git diff` confirmed they all had (the grep was a stale read).

10. **Gap flags.** Six genuine *unacknowledged* gaps (international tax/VAT, infosec/breach posture, content-moderation/IP-DMCA, verification methodology, support-ops cost, creator-commerce competitors) + lower-priority notes. Operator chose to **flag all as honest deferred notes** rather than invent positions → added as memo §14 items #3–#9, acknowledged in the PR-FAQ "what got left out" answer. Committed (`25c2659`).
